We had a very pleasant stay at Alcala. The manager helped up with luggage as we had not expected stairs. The room was spacious and warm, the beds comfortable. There was a good-sized kitchen area and a free laundry with washer and dryer. It was a pleasant, though much longer than expected walk to the closest shops. Free off street parking. There were plenty of local places to visit including the botanic gardens, the eco sanctuary and a very pleasant drive to the Chinese Gardens.

The friendly staff were great. Had a comfortable evening - the beds were comfy. I drew attention to some items that needed work and they immediately tasked it out. Impressed. I'll happy stay here again.

Wonderful building, Spanish style, great location-10 minutes from shops and The Octagon. Lovely one bedroom apartment, very comfortable and clean. Great nights sleep, bed was a little firm which suited us! Plenty of kitchenware if you chose to self cater and breakfast bar to eat at. Full size cooker, microwave fridge. Breakfast was available to order the night before, Continental and/or cooked. We had continental, choice of juices, cereals, yogurt,fruit and toast plus tea or coffee. Good Free Wifi too. We were on the ground floor, some rooms were on first floor, could have been tricky with luggage and elderly folk. Great friendly staff in reception. Plenty of on site parking.

Got upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment on check in which was very thoughtful as then I didn’t have to sleep with one of my children in the queen bed in the studio I had booked as was what was available at the time of one line support. This motel is an 80’s oldie but a goodie. Very clean, good space ( love 80 design) and walking distance to the museum, uni, and eateries,/tskeaways. Which we walked too . Night and day across the road is very handy. The Cooked Breakfast and paper ordered for the morning was easy to arrange. And was tasty. Would recommend staying.

Clean room, bath tub a bit worn out, beds were comfortable, total stay in room is great. Housekeeping servicing room everyday which is a bonus. Downfall would be the use of laundry, as we couldn't do laundry in the morning,bonus, free use of laundry. Otherwise, i'd come back and stay here for future stays. Very central to the University, shop right across the road. Eatery down the corner, what more can you ask for.

Nice big spacious room and very comfortable beds. Good lighting, privacy, bathroom and kitchen facilities. Right next to a convenience store and just around the corner from a nice cafe and the university and a short walk to Forsyth Barr stadium. I also walked home from the Octagon after a few drinks so great location overall.

It was roomy, warm, clean and comfortable, even if a little older in the styling. Perfect for a larger family and offering good value for money. Heaps of power outlets. Servicing of the room was good, replenishing the used condiments etc. The 24-hour Night&Day convenience store over the road was very handy! Didn’t find too big an issue with water pressure as others had mentioned - we were in the middle level (one storey up).

The room is very spacious, and the loft is quite interesting; the children really enjoy sleeping up there. The room is well-equipped, and it is very convenient to use. The surrounding environment is very beautiful and peaceful, and it is truly a delightful experience to be awakened every morning by the sound of seagulls squabbling. We were greeted by a very nice old gentleman.
